Rift segments were hiden inside acts, for example going inside one of the sewer pipes would take you to the mafia town sewers rift level. You would then need to go back in and do the boss fight.Īct 3 was different and instead of scaring a mafia guy as a mud covered blob you had to repair the cannon so it could shoot you up to the HQ on the top level. There were a few more time pieces to collect per act origianlly, for example in the battle of the barrels act a robot was wandering around that tented area with a time piece and you could collect that and it would end the act.
The robot has been removed from the full game as far as I can tell, but it's voice has been given to the robot hoover in the spaceship. The time piece now crashes into the fountain where before it was the umbrella (this meant the defaut attack was a punch) and when you picked up the umbrella a little robot apeared with the time piece and you had to kill it instead of the mafia running off with it like in the full game. The shops had brightly coloured brick work before.
Mafia town has had some textures changed, most notably around the fountain at the end of act 1.
The beta was mostly mafia town, you also had the haunted mansion and train rush levels but as far as I can tell that latter two are unchanged in the final game.
